In the EU, our lack of a homegrown software infrastructure leaves politicians and CEOs dependent on U.S. or Chinese-made operating systems and software, exposing their communications to potential espionage.
Closed-source systems, controlled by foreign entities, carry inherent risks of backdoors and invasive data collection. This dependency highlights the urgent need for an alternative: open-source solutions. Open-source software provides transparency, allowing independent audits to verify security and eliminate hidden vulnerabilities. By adopting and investing in open-source systems, the EU can regain digital sovereignty and reduce reliance on foreign technologies.
