European universities pride themselves on being startup-friendly and having valorization offices, but in practice, they inadvertently often kill their own startups by blocking investments, charging rent, or absurdly high costs to access university resources, to name just a few issues. I understand they want to avoid the optics of startups making money off university-owned patents and ideas. But the way itβs handled now makes it even harder to succeed than it already is.
