Stop all subsidies or give people shares of the companies that receive them

Subsidies is a form of forced investment by (all) the people in a particular area or group of companies that some illuminated think it is wise (or even necessary for our own survival).

In reality, subsidies are investments in enterprises that are not yet (or will obviously be) profitable (otherwise individuals would invest by themselves freely).

When these investments work and the business becomes profitable the business owners get rewarded as they own the business. But the people that were forced to invest, have no shares of the business and thus no way of benefiting from their (forced) investment.

When these investments go wrong — everyone remembers banks and airlines bailouts, etc. — it is not business owners’ money that gets lost. It is people’s money.

Subsidies as they are, are simply theft. The government takes from the people and gives to a particular group of “entrepreneurs”.

Ideally all subsidies should be prohibited.

But if that’s not possible, then at least give the people shares of the companies that are receiving subsidies!
