    Each country must certainly have representation in the EC, otherwise you have a revolt on your hands. But I do agree, commissioners should be elected by the people, and answer to the people (either directly or via the Parliament).

      Fair point! Think you’d only have a revolt from some politicians, not really the people. The Council already ensures every country has an equal vote. The Commission’s job is to serve EU interests, not national ones. It’s about streamlining, not sidelining.
