Make mandatory disclosure of contact information for website owners illegal

National laws like the German “Impressumspflicht” require almost all website owners to provide contact information like name, address and email address. This is a serious burden for individuals that want to start a business since they either have to provide their private contact information or pay for services or rent (virtual) office spaces. The European Union should aim to make such mandates illegal since they are a hindrance to innovation and discriminate against start ups.
