In The Netherlands, a private limited company (BV) is required to pay a minimum of 56k EUR annual salary to each Major Shareholder (>=5% equity). This creates a big hurdle for founder to launch a startups and raise enough funding to fulfill these requirements (given EU funding climate), and therefore stifles innovation.
There used to be a startup regulation that exempts startups for 3 years from this 56k EUR minimum salary, but has been abolished in 2023.
Bringing this back would make it easier for entrepreneurs to start a new innovative company
