End EU-Wide Harmonization of Corporate Tax Policy
State competition not harmonization.
Proposal: Turn corporate tax harmonization on its head by introducing tax competition between member states.
• How:
• Abandon efforts to create an EU-wide corporate tax rate.
• Encourage member states to compete for businesses by lowering rates and simplifying tax codes.
• Prohibit punitive measures, such as “minimum tax” rules that penalize low-tax jurisdictions.
• Outcome: Attract global businesses to Europe and encourage innovation as states vie to create the most business-friendly environments.
