You do understand how many things that make Europe great rely on welfare, right? Education, affordable healthcare, social housing…
I do agree that pensions should be cut. But let’s do it the American way, introducing something like 401(k). Check out my post.

Welfare is good, who would like to live in the US and have to pay all basic health and necessities? Not me. However, it needs to be more efficient and aligned with common interest.

The USA won’t be able to grow unless it significantly reduces its welfare state. Is this politically attainable maybe not. Deep down europeans are just not willing to do what it takes to escape from their current managed decline.

Good but better to cut it by 100%.
If general welfare is indeed positive, individuals will — as they already do it in fact — take care of it.
