Change the Culture (celebrate risktakers)
Make it "cool" to take risks in the EU. Currently, it's not viewed positively, and many consider it "irresponsible" to start and build startups.
Boost by 10-100x the media, news & TV coverage of successful founders.

The culture in most EU countries is driven by fear. Peter Thiel correctly called it « indefinite pessimism ». Fear of a future you do not control
On all matters it’s the case : nuclear, genetic, AI, « algorithm », political matters
It’s time to reset EU cultures towards risk taking and definite optimism

Absolutely, you can see the “fear” clearly from the students in Europe. They learn to follow orders, not to forward think to challenge the status quo. This is not the fundamental value of the West. The West is supposed to be the adventurer. I don’t say they should challenge the status quo in a bad way but in a positive way that benefits the European society.

Every other issue mentioned in the list that destroyed European dynamism is essentially downstream to the wider cultural sentiment across the continent. Instead of top-down bureaucratic blaming, the EU masses want to live in an environment of stasis, which is reflected in regulations.
I did a deep dive to make sense of this here:

Only if the most successful people in society speak out against it, this can gain any traction not some random anonymous mid-level shitposters on X. Noone hears from them because they’re the beneficiaries of it. Pull new money leaders to take up the mantle of this movement, ala Elon Musk of Europe.

Teach older Europeans the urgency of the situation. If Europe does not change its culture to encourage innovation, European culture and history will be lost to Russian army and Chinese drones anyway

Founders and investors should be meeting regularly with bureaucrats to break down ‘us vs them’ walls

Invite successful founders to university for guest lectures. Have not seen this in Amsterdam. The guest lectures you get are from Entrepeneur professors who have not started a successful business.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting to hear this from such a developed ecosystem like Amsterdam. There are a ton of successful growth startups being developed in the Netherlands (e.g. Framer). It often has to do with a lack of exited founders.
