European Inc: a single pan-European business entity

Europe should create a single, EU-wide business entity that eliminates the complexity of dealing with 27 different company registration requirements. Starting a business should be as easy as clicking a button online, without needing physical offices, notaries, or lawyers.

Update: This is now being worked on at eu-inc.org

Does the EU have power to even create that entity?

wrote a proposal for EU Inc to build the company registry onchain & not just online. You can read up here:

We also built a demo of what it would look like (from incorporation to financially operational in less than 5 minutes):

So there should be 28 different company registration requirements?

EU should set a minimum. If there are some countries where it can’t be set up online etc then they can be told that they need to improve. No need to create a new bureaucracy.

Here is a good writeup how bad it can be even if you have a more flexible online setup, currently you need to deal with your home tax system as well

This would level the playing field with the US and TBH from the moment the EU started, that’s the one thing I expected from the EU. A single market.

In the US, any business instantly has 300M customers, any of which they can take payment from and ship product to easily and cheaply.

In the EU… even Amazon.com has different websites and businesses for almost every single EU country.

This is the easiest network effect win ever. Make pan european businesses the norm.

This along with simple and clear regulations, will make the EU rich beyond our wildest dreams. Innovation will move back to the EU, the brain drain will stop.
